Per the latest research by the Association of American Medical Colleges, projected shortages of primary care physicians range between 14,900 and 35,600 by 2025. Rankings were based on multiple indicators including student selectivity admissions statistics (MCAT, GPA and acceptance rate) and faculty-student ratio.
